We build a variety of client-facing systems:

A large projection screen in a client's home theatre.
A VMS-designed and installed client AV system, featuring a 120" acoustically-transparent screen, 4K projection without digital keystone, an Apple TV 4K, and universal remote control integration.

Audio-Visual Media Systems

We originally started in audio-visual systems in the mid-2000s! Still to this day, we love to work with clients on new-build, renovation, and retrofit AV systems; with everything from AV system design, customization, implementation, and long-term support.

We’re passionate about open-source, privacy-focused, modular, long-term-evolution ready systems, which might require more up-front engineering at the start, but lay a solid foundation for long-term evolution and maintenance.

Related to AV systems, we also work on acoustic room design, treatment, and room tuning, in addition to pro audio and video production studio spaces, portable AV solutions, such as presentation systems, and so on.

Software-Defined Networking

We specialize in network system design, customization, implementation, and support for homeowners, work-from-home professionals, and small businesses.

We primarily deploy Ubiquiti Networks Unifi equipment, for a single control plane for management, configuration, maintenance and network traffic review, etc.

We’re happy to offer Pi Hole, pfSense or Firewalla integration, for parental (Internet) controls and content filtering, and we’ve been involved with a few off-grid networking projects, too.

Structured Media Wiring & Fixed Wireless

  • We cover the whole gamut; from copper and fibre in the walls, all the way up to end-user experiences on smart devices.
  • We collaborate well with with architects and interior designers, primary build or renovation contractors and their teams; electricians, landscapers, lighting designs, cabinetry and millworkers, plumbers, HVAC installers, and accessibility solution providers.
  • We’re happy to work on your new-build, home renovation, and retrofitting projects.

We install everything from copper to optical cabling, and long-term-evolution structured media wiring, with an emphasis on:

  • Power-over-Ethernet capabilities,
  • 1 Gbit (gigabit) all the way up to 100 Gbit (gigabit) network links,
  • “Wi-Fi 6” (802.11ax Wi-Fi), and soon-to-come (by 2024) "Wi-Fi 7",
  • 900MHz ISM-band secure radio,
  • Unlicensed microwave ethernet links,
  • Software-defined radio applications and related software,
  • Infrared and control-over-IP for AV systems, etc.

Open-source Home Automation

  • We exclusively deploy Home Assistant for clients, due to it’s privacy-first approach, open-source code quality, long-term-evolution readiness, and community support.
  • We can help clients monitor or control just about any device where we can access its circuitry.
  • We can build your smart home systems, based on the flexibility of truly open solutions, focusing on privacy and your whole data ownership; built on global IEEE standards.
  • This means that our systems are not just good for a few years after installation, but outstanding for a decade or more, matching long-term network growth alongside your family’s needs and technology adoption, evolution, and learning.

IP Security & Surveillance Systems

Again, we primarily deploy Ubiquiti Networks' Unifi Protect products for our clients, so that they benefit from a single control plane for management, configuration, maintenance, and video recording review, with automatic motion-event tagging, doorbell integrations, etc.

We also love to build integrations with Zigbee wireless sensors, Konnected.io smart alarm systems, i.e. replacing outdated alarm system control boards with modern PoE and battery-backup covered smart alarm boards. We can effectively help clients delete their monthly alarm monitoring fees and replace them with well-engineered self-monitoring instead. And as before, all of this is available via customized, smartphone/tablet apps and browser-based Home Assistant dashboards.

Solar, Off-Grid, Automotive and Low-voltage Systems

  • Off-grid solar: PV panel, charge controller, inverter, battery, and power management installation, integration, maintenance, etc.
  • Dash-cam and reverse camera installations,
  • High-speed smartphone charging port and cradle installations,
  • Custom automotive audio-visual systems,
  • Vehicle and fleet tracking,
  • Tablet, laptop, and asset-tracking; rugged-mounting installations in vehicles,
  • Cellular signal booster installations,
  • Starlink (satellite internet) installations,
  • Van conversions and tiny home project collaboration, (i.e. including our other networking, fixed wireless, lighting, and home automation systems,)
  • And almost of the above is available via customized, app- and web-based Home Assistant dashboards.

Indoor Smart Lighting & Control

We offer custom interior (low voltage) lighting design, implementation, customized web-based Home Assistant lighting control dashboards, and related support.

We’re happy to collaborate with medium-voltage (RedBook-certified) electricians for retrofitting smart dimmers, smart lighting fixtures, into clients' renovations and new-home builds.

We also love to work with addressable LED pixels, both high- and low-resolution video matrices, LED animations, ENTTEC products, scene presets, ambient information displays, etc.

We support integrations with Apple HomeKit / Siri, and other privacy-centric automations, along with lighting for video, including video calling and group video conferencing, etc.

We’re helping to monitor and reduce home energy consumption by installing current sensors, IoT nodes, and related software, with data granularity down to the second, and down to each individual circuit breaker.

Outdoor Smart Lighting & Control

We can work with you for custom smart landscape lighting design, implementation, and ongoing support. We’re happy to collaborate with you and your team to develop architectural, landscape, lighting, irrigation design, implementations, and support, etc.

We also provide software integration for building access, gates and garage doors, and other entry-related systems.

We primarily work with Z-Wave, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and 12V/24V lighting systems.

Recently we’ve been testing deployments of infrared (IR) LED lighting for boosting IP camera surveillance systems, which boosts night-time IR camera performance, while remaining invisible to human eyes.

We even build irrigation control systems, with software scheduling and automation, to finally bring sprinklers into the 2020s! We've even built recycling/collection reminders, with hourly updates via collection APIs, into customized, app- and web-based Home Assistant dashboards.

Streaming & Small Business Broadcast Systems

We’re happy to build and deploy (StreamLabs / OBS) streaming PCs, with features like StreamDeck macro control, but we’re also happy to work with PC-free streaming and broadcasting solutions, such as Blackmagic Design's ATEM switcher/encoder products, for ease-of-use by single lecturers or guest presenters.

One of our passions is designing and building ergonomic workstation and studio spaces, (and related structured media, networking, and system integrations.)

We also love developing multi-camera video production workflows, and distributed television-like stream productions, and we also cover a broad range of post-production editing, colour grading, and finishing systems, etc.
