VMS was founded by our lead consultant, Ashley Theiss, back in 2006.
Our Story
Our story began in 2006, amidst the ‘iPod revolution’, first by helping friends and family with digitizing their music collections, building basic in-home music streaming systems, trouble-shooting home theatre builds, and related household computer networking.
By 2012, we had grown more capabilities with IP video broadcasting and low-voltage systems, and by 2015, we added full-stack web development to our services, in conjunction with building IP broadcast systems for a cross-Canada coding bootcamp.
We delved deeper into full greenfield structured media and smart home builds with various projects from 2016-2020, but due to Covid-19, we were forced to move to remote-only courseware and live teaching offerings for our clients, but 2022 has seen a resurgence of in-person client work, system building, and support.

Our mission is to empower our clients with a collaborative relationship, with hands-on support and standards-based technologies, by building elegant, user-friendly, maintainable, flexible, robust, long-term-evolution-ready systems, and empower clients to be agile to respond to as-yet-unforeseen future technologies, challenges and changes.

We aim to preserve our clients’ privacy by systematically protecting their information as much as possible, limiting what we collect, and working with transparent, open-source data encryption protocols.
