Tutorial Platform: Mac
Tutorial Time: 3 minutes.
Tutorial Requirements:
- An Apple computer running Mac OS-X.
- An available wireless network, with a known network name and password.
Tutorial Overview:
In this tutorial, we cover one of the most essential skills required to take advantage of Internet connectivity on your Mac; learning how to connect to local wireless networks (also known as WiFi.)
Here's how we get connected:
- From the far-right side of the Menu Bar, click on the Wireless indicator icon:

- If your Airport is not yet turned on, click "Turn AirPort On".

- Click on the indicator icon again, and a wireless network survey menu will appear:

- Click on the wireless network you want to connect to.
- When prompted, enter the password for the network, and click OK:

(Connection will be established.)
- The wireless indicator icon will turn from "searching" to "connected", and show the wireless signal strength:

- You're now connected to the network! Assuming your wireless network is connected to the Internet, you should now be online.
Conclusion:
You should now be able to connect your Mac to any locally-available wireless network, at home, in coffee shops, hotels, and even on commercial airline flights!
As always, please post your feedback, questions, suggestions, etc in the comments section at the bottom of this blog post! Thanks.
